Farah Khan wants to play the peacemaker between Salman-SRK

The choreographer-turned-director, believes that the fight between the actors is getting longer.

"I wish I could bridge the gap. I love both of them. It's (the fight) getting longer now," Farah told PTI.

Farah, who has turned a chat-show host with 'Tere Mere Beach Mein' had Salman Khan and his mother as her first celebrity guests while she is planning to bring Shah Rukh in the final episode.

"Since Salman had never come on a chat show before and was very candid during the show, we made him the first guest. But Shah Rukh will be the last one to keep the audience hooked till the end," she says.

The two Khans of Bollywood have not been on talking terms since last year, with both taking regular digs at each other in public, after a fight at the birthday party of Salman's girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Interestingly, Shah Rukh owned Red Chillies is one of the producers of the show.

But what we are saying is true as it has been revealed by none other than Katty Baby herself, while talking to a leading trade expert.

Says Katrina, ''I have a presence of exactly seven minutes and twenty seconds in BLUE. And I don't even have a song in the film.'' Katrina clarified that she knew pretty well about the length of her role and that is why she has always maintained that she is merely essaying a special appearance in BLUE.

And that she was not fooled into doing the role, which she did only for the makers and Akshay Kumar, who is a dear friend. She also added that she is revealing this as she does not want her fans to be disappointed when they don't find her in an extended special appearance.

Ritesih Deshmukh to feel 'nostalgic' these days

The actor will be seen sporting a school bag in Eros International's ALADIN directed by Sujoy Ghosh. ALADIN is a contemporary look at the classic fairy tale where Riteish plays the title character. However, in Sujoy's version, ALADIN shares nothing other than his name with the protagonist of the famous fairy-tale.

Here ALADIN is a shy, young man who is constantly bullied by a certain gang of boys in his college. Since Riteish plays a college student in the film, he was required to carry a bag. The actor suggested using a sling, since that is very popular with the youth today.

However, Director Sujoy insisted on Riteish carrying a typical school bag as it would be a perfect fit with his reclusive character in the film. Riteish immediately disagreed, but later decided to try it out on Sujoy's persuasion.

He was given a worn-out brown leather bag by Art director Sabu Cyril to try it on. After giving a few takes with the bag, he discovered, to his own surprise that the bag indeed added that 'authentic' touch to his character in the film and gladly agreed to carry it.

Says Riteish, ''Sujoy is a brilliant director and knows exactly what he wants. He was very sure about his portrayal of ALADIN and though I was initially hesitant, I realized that the bag completely matched ALADIN's personality.'' And how was the school-going experience? He laughs ''Carrying that typical 'two-shoulder' school bag initially felt weird, but it was fun too. It was like reliving my school days after all these years!

Though everyone, including the scribes who normally love to bitch about her, were ecstatic that Piggy Chops is soaking herself wet on the beaches abroad, the celebration mood was spoilt after a work commitment needed the actress to be back in town.

Actually, it was the dubbing for Priyanka's upcoming film WHAT'S YOUR RASHEE that played the spoilsport. Though, Priyanka gladly came back and did her bit, it was at the cost of her holidaying mood that the Bollywood hottie came back in town to finish the pending work.

Though, she's not complaining, since she's joining her family and friends back at the undisclosed holiday destination one more time, we hope it's not work calling her back again in the middle of her much deserved break.

Salman Khan cancels his US trip

Bollywood star Salman Khan has cancelled his upcoming trip to New York to promote his latest movie "Wanted", besides participating in the auction of his personal paintings to raise funds for his charity.

Organisers and promoters associated with the event cited Shah Rukh Khan's episode at Newark Airport early this month, where he was questioned by immigration officials and taken for a second screening, as a major reason for Salman to cancel his New York trip scheduled in early September.

The event was scheduled for September 3 in New York. The promoters were also in talks with local organisers in cities like Chicago, Houston and Dallas for his other events.

"However, after the Shah Rukh Khan event, Salman informed us that he would not like to take the risk of coming to the US at this point," an informed source involved with the planning and organising the September 3 event told PTI.

Priyanka Chopra turns a victim of child marriage

Priyanka Chopra and her upcoming flick What’s Your Raashee? It’s a known fact that she is essaying 12 different characters, as per the 12 different zodiac signs, but apparently and very strangely, one of them bears a striking similarity to Anandi of Balika Vadhu.

In one of the roles Priyanka essays the character of Jhankana, who is a naive village girl and a victim of child marriage. Priyanka is donning a village girl look, complete with two pig tales and a sari with dark make up.

Though we are not implying that the look is totally a copy of Balika Vadhu’s Anandi, the striking similarities like pigtails and Rajasthani pallu and bandhani ghagra do lay a heavy suspicion on the ‘inspiration’ behind the pigtails of Piggy Chops.

And oh! Did we mention even poor Jhankana is a victim of child marriage just like Anandi! Coincidence? We don’t think so!

Looks like ‘child marriage’ is the hot talk around the industry, and now silver screen is getting on with the trend and cashing in on the hot topic of child brides!
