Priyanka Chopra turns a victim of child marriage

Priyanka Chopra and her upcoming flick What’s Your Raashee? It’s a known fact that she is essaying 12 different characters, as per the 12 different zodiac signs, but apparently and very strangely, one of them bears a striking similarity to Anandi of Balika Vadhu.

In one of the roles Priyanka essays the character of Jhankana, who is a naive village girl and a victim of child marriage. Priyanka is donning a village girl look, complete with two pig tales and a sari with dark make up.

Though we are not implying that the look is totally a copy of Balika Vadhu’s Anandi, the striking similarities like pigtails and Rajasthani pallu and bandhani ghagra do lay a heavy suspicion on the ‘inspiration’ behind the pigtails of Piggy Chops.

And oh! Did we mention even poor Jhankana is a victim of child marriage just like Anandi! Coincidence? We don’t think so!

Looks like ‘child marriage’ is the hot talk around the industry, and now silver screen is getting on with the trend and cashing in on the hot topic of child brides!

Kareena and Katrina combo certainly set the box office on fire

Kambakkht Ishq and New York earning big bucks at the box office, the race for Bollywood’s top slot has just got hotter. But instead of making sarcastic jibes, tinsel town’s leading ladies seem to have formed a mutual admiration society.

In a recent interview Katrina Kaif said she was ‘nowhere near Kareena Kapoor as a performer’. Katrina’s act of diplomacy seems to have gone down very well with Miss Kapoor.

The usually frank Bebo who has in the past rubbed many actresses the wrong way, acknowledged all the flattery from Katrina.

Incidentally Katrina Kaif also endorses another line designed by the same company. When asked about Katrina she said, I am very grateful and thankful to Katrina for all the nice things she has said about me. Bebo said she was in no way envious of Katrina and the host of endorsements in her kitty.

Lara Dutta broken up from Dino Morea

The freshly single-again Lara isn’t going to mope over another relationship gone kaput. Rather she’s going to immerse herself in shooting abroad for a few days and then will take a break and zip off for a holiday to a destination she doesn’t want to disclose.

“I will be taking some time off after the shooting but I can't tell you about my plans now,” Lara is quoted as saying in a media report.

It’s been about two years since Lara ended a long relationship with model-actor Kelly Dorjee . It was believed that Dino was behind the much talked-about split, but he denied it. Thereafter, Lara and Dino were spotted regularly at Bollywood parties and other events.

But now, the two have parted ways and Lara is single again. However, this time she plans to stay single and isn’t game to mingle for some time at least.

Sonakshi sinha was offered a role by Salman khan

Shatrughan and Punam Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi was offered a role by Salman in a film to be produced by Arbaaz Khan. But Sonakshi, apparently in two minds about a film career, decided not to do it. She had studied fashion designing and that’s what she wanted to pursue as a career.

The girl hadn’t bargained for Salman’s persuasive powers. Apparently he kept asking Sonakshi and her parents (who are very fond of Salman) until they finally relented.And now Sonakshi has finally said yes to the untitled film which begins shooting in a couple of months.

Says a source very close to the project, “Salman saw Sonakshi at the Fashion Week and told her to lose 10 kgs. Sonakshi decided to lose 30 kgs.

Aamir Khan wife Kiran Rao pregnant

Aamir Khan wife Kiran Rao is three months pregnant. The actor however prefers to keep the news hush-hush. Kiran was recently admitted to a South Mumbai hospital for fever, where her pregnancy was diagnosed reported Mumbai Mirror. Sources at the hospital, where she is consulting a doctor for her pregnancy, on condition of anonymity revealed to the news daily, “She was admitted to the fourth floor of the old hospital building.

She was in the hospital for a week.The source also confirmed to Mumbai Mirror that the tests revealed Rao’s pregnancy, and added, “During the hospitalisation, Aamir would visit her everyday.

He used to come in late at night, after 9pm. It was obvious he did not want any attention. During the week-long hospitalisation, the cause for fever could not be diagnosed, but it was treated.

Kareena justifies her bikini shoot in Kambakkht Ishq

Kareena Kapoor is looking forward to the release of her much-talk-about film Kambakkht Ishq, where she acts with Hollywood biggies Sylvester Stallone and Brandon Routh.

It also has her favourite Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar in the lead role.Even more than the cast of the film, Kareena’s bikini scene has created lots of interest amongst the film buffs.

The sexy and daring actress justified the scene by saying that she couldn’t help but wear a swimsuit in a swimming scene, as she couldn’t wear jeans under water.

Kareena also played down the rumours of her request to the makers of the film to cut the promos which features her in bikini. She said it is the work of the producers to choose the scenes for promotion.
