Salman Khan cancels his US trip

Bollywood star Salman Khan has cancelled his upcoming trip to New York to promote his latest movie "Wanted", besides participating in the auction of his personal paintings to raise funds for his charity.

Organisers and promoters associated with the event cited Shah Rukh Khan's episode at Newark Airport early this month, where he was questioned by immigration officials and taken for a second screening, as a major reason for Salman to cancel his New York trip scheduled in early September.

The event was scheduled for September 3 in New York. The promoters were also in talks with local organisers in cities like Chicago, Houston and Dallas for his other events.

"However, after the Shah Rukh Khan event, Salman informed us that he would not like to take the risk of coming to the US at this point," an informed source involved with the planning and organising the September 3 event told PTI.

Salman khan is pretty popular among female fans

Salman Khan wins TV show 'Dance India Dance'

Last Saturday, he beat Alisha Singh, Siddhesh Pai and Jai Kumar Nair to the golden hat at the grand finale of the reality show, Dance India Dance. Then, after four hours of media interaction, while the rest of the team went off to party, Salman Khan had to rush home because he had an early morning shoot with his namesake.

As part of his winnings, Salman Khan junior got to feature with Salman Khan senior in a promotional video for the superstar’s next film, Wanted—Dead or Alive, being directed by Prabhudeva who was a guest on the show.

“The feeling of victory has still to sink in because I’ve been busy shooting for the last three days,” says an excited Salman when you finally get him on the phone.

The biggest thrill for the new dancing star was that the actor who is a favourite after films like Andaaz Apna Apna, Tere Naam and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, remembered him from the show.

“In the video, I’m the one who gets to dance. Salmanbhai only has a brief interaction with me during which we talk about life and where I’m headed. Even off camera, he sat me down and gave me pointers on what to do and what not,” says the DID winner.

According to a report in a Kolkata-based newspaper, Salman Khan has ‘confirmed’ to the Indian press his friendship with Claudia and has even introduced her to his family. According to sources, Claudia is a very private person. She will never talk about her personal life. She refused to comment on her ‘relationship’ with Salman and even forbade her spokesperson from breathing a word about anything to the media. But now Salman cleared the air in a candid and straight-from-the-heart interview to a Kolkatta paper. Flynn Remedios, Claudia Ciesla’s spokesperson, publicist and manager for India said: “Claudia has been wrongly understood by the Indian Media. She is not a topless or nude model.

Claudia has never posed nude and will vowed never to do any nude shoots. All the other photos that show Claudia nude or topless are fake and digitally altered. We will sue anyone who claims that Claudia is a topless or nude model.Speaking to the journalist from Kolkata via email, Claudia said, “I love the Indian Culture, ethos, and traditions. I respect all Indian religions. I am God-willing planning to permanently settle in India. I am not a nude or topless model but a very serious professional who has done some very good work in the west.

Salman invited Claudia to his home, introduced Claudia to his family. “Claudia is a very nice girl. I have introduced her to my family,” Salman Khan said casually when queried about his ‘relationship’ with Claudia. Shilpa Shetty takes cricket lessons

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who co-owns the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rajasthan Royals, had a brush with on-field action when she teamed up with cricketers to learn a few tips. She tried to learn some basics about the game from Graeme Smith and Shane Warne, the members of her team, but soon she was left out of breath.


“It was a fun day… Graeme (Smith) taught me how to bat and Shane (Warne) taught me how to spin the ball! We played for a bit and after I ran four times between the wickets I was gasping for breath,” Shilpa posted on her blog from Cape Town.

“Now I respect my cricketers more, wonder how they do it, handling all that pressure, gawd! We actors have it easier, at least we get retakes… anyway it’s still a thankless job when they lose,” she added.
