Govinda plays womaniser in 'Life Partner'

'Life Partner' tells the story of two young men played by Fardeen Khan and me. And then there is Govinda who keeps coming in and going out of the scene, just as Salman did in 'No Entry'," Tusshar told IANS.

"In 'No Entry', the story revolved around Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, but no one could deny the importance of Salman in the film. Same is the case in 'Life Partner' too where Govinda is an integral part of the plot," says Tusshar who is also working with Govinda in "Run Bhola Run", a comedy.

Directed by Rumi Jaffery and produced by Abbas-Mustan, "Life Partner" is releasing Friday.

Talking about the three male protagonists in "Life Partner", Tusshar said: "The best of the enterprise is the conflicting view that each of us has around marriage. Fardeen is quite flamboyant and believes in love marriage.

He has a girl friend (Genelia D'Souza), is very westernised in appeal, just as he is in real life too and has a free side to him. We both play best friends in the film."

Genelia will be perform at 56th South Filmfare Awards

South cinema opens its doors today as the stars gather for the South Filmfare Awards Festival at the Novotel in Hyderabad, the heart of Tollywood.

Genelia D’Souza will be performing at the awards and has been nominated as Best Actress for her role in Santosh Subramaniam, originally in Tamil, later remade as Bommarillu in Telegu and now as It's My Life with Harman Baweja in Hindi.

"I will be performing to a medley of songs from Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films," says Genelia, "I have been so busy shooting that I have hardly had any time to rehearse. I hope all goes well tonight."

Six films are competing for the Best Film Award in the biggest section - Telegu: Asta Chamma, Gamyam, Jalsaa, Kottha Bangaru Lokam, Parugu, and Ready with Ileana's Jalsaa considered the favourite by many.

In the Best Actress section for Telegu, Trisha has the hot money on her for her role in Khrishna whilst in the male section, loyalties seem divided between Jnr NTR for Kantri and Ravi Teja for Khrishna.

Meanwhile, Genelia's career goes from strength to strength. Currently promoting Life Partner with Fardeen Khan, she is already looking forward to her next release, Ken Ghosh’s media titiled Yahoo and is busy working on Katha, which she considers to be her best Telegu work yet.

"I am allowed to experiment with my roles in Hyderabad," she says, "My latest release will be Katha, which is a dark film and I will be exhibiting a completely different character in that film."

Genelia D’Souza for falling in love with her hit flick

Genelia D’Souza for falling in love with her hit flick, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and the popular character, Pappu. We all loved him but she’s taken her fondness to the next level.

For her upcoming release, Life Partner, she had her co-star Fardeen Khan do the popular dance step from the Pappu Can’t Dance Saala song, because she felt it was lucky!

The move has been incorporated by choreographers Bosco-Caesar in the Teri Meri Zindagi number from Life Partner, which is playing on television these days!

Life Partner, directed by comedy king, Rumi Jaffery, stars Govinda, Genelia D’Souza, Fardeen Khan, Prachi Desai and Tusshar Kapoor, and is slated to release on August 14. It is an Abbas-Mustan/Studio 18 production.

Asin spat with Genelia

Asin

Asin is a smart girl who knows to connect with the right people to move up in Bollywood. At 23, Asin may be young, but she is definitely not naïve. A superstar down south long before Deepika and Sonam even signed their first films, Asin has been doing movies ever since she was 15 years old.

She is well aware that her competitions in Bollywood are the young breed of actresses, not the established ones. All this talk of being friends with Deepika and Sonam, doesn’t go down too well if one remembers Asin’s spat with Genelia.

Ms Congeniality Asin gets her claws out at the mention of Genelia. Asin seems to be following the saying ‘keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.’

Genelia replaces Jiah khan

Director Ken Ghosh has been insisting that Jiah Khan’s ouster from his film has nothing to do with her acting talent.

Justifying the same, he says that he roped in Genelia because the heroine’s character changed with due course of time. He tried to rubbish the rumor that he didn’t like whatever had been shot with Jiah so far.

“Jiah performs really well. She being replaced has nothing to do with her capabilities as an actress. Honestly speaking, it was the sea change in the female protagonist’s character that caused me to make the change. Earlier, the character was a lot hotter and Jiah fit the bill. Now she’s turned much cuter and Genelia turned out to be the perfect choice”, says Ken.
