Director Ken Ghosh has been insisting that Jiah Khan’s ouster from his film has nothing to do with her acting talent.

Justifying the same, he says that he roped in Genelia because the heroine’s character changed with due course of time. He tried to rubbish the rumor that he didn’t like whatever had been shot with Jiah so far.

“Jiah performs really well. She being replaced has nothing to do with her capabilities as an actress. Honestly speaking, it was the sea change in the female protagonist’s character that caused me to make the change. Earlier, the character was a lot hotter and Jiah fit the bill. There have been rumors from the Cannes film festival that the director Pan Nalin is prepared to cast Aamir opposite recent Oscar winner Kate Winslet, for a film based on the short story Toba Tek Singh by Saadat Hasan Manto. The film is a look inside of a Lahore mental asylum in 1947.

The director plans to meet both Kate Winslet and Rachel Weisz before he finalizes the casting as according to him these are the two actresses who can do justice to the role.

Must say this is one B-Town actor who proves again and again that his work is worthier than many of his counterparts.

Shahrukh khan to play a superhero

SRK is all set to do what Hrithik did in Krrish, and Abhishek did in Drona - to play a superhero.

We have already got a glimpse of SRK in a Superman costume in Om Shanti Om. Now King Khan will be seen doing a full-fledged role in Anubhav Sinha's next, which is apparently a sci-fi film with a lot of spectacular special effects.

The uncle nephew jodi of Aamir and Imran Khan seems to be on a pets loving spree. Our source, who is a close acquaintance of both the actors revealed an interesting story depicting their love for the lost roadside animals.

Revealed the source, “Imran Khan few days back found a brown doberman puppy in the bylanes of Pali Hill area where he resides. The sweet chap that he is, Imran actually tracked down the owner of the puppy and went to him with his lost thing. But the owner though acknowledged the fact that it was his puppy, he surprised Imran saying, he didn’t want to keep it anymore that is why he left him. Imran then actually took the puppy to his own home and since then is treating him as his own pet. Its a female dog and Imran and his mom Nuzhat are enjoying its company a lot nowadays.”

Sonam Kapoor enrolled herself in an acting course

Anil Kapoor’s elder daughter Sonam Kapoor has enrolled herself in an acting course in New York this summer. Maybe perhaps it’s her way of beating the Mumbai heat or taking a break away from the offers or the lack of offers in Bollywood…whatever Or then maybe she’s realized she needs to hone her acting skills a bit more before embarking on her home production, Ayesha.

No one really knows the exact reason behind her decision to join the acting classes but it is learnt that it is going to be a crash course for a few weeks and that she will be renting an apartment in plush Manhattan while she does her studies.

Our source close to the Delhi-6 girl also revealed that Sonam’s US based friends who studied with her in Boston earlier will also be staying with her in New York while she is there and the girls have planned to make the most of it.

Shahrukh-Kajol-Rani’s Kootchie Kootchie Hota Hain is almost ready

The much awaited animated version of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai titled Kootchie Kootchie Hota Hain is almost ready and is being scheduled to release soon to commemorate 10 years of the film. This mega budget animated venture is a joint production between Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions along with Los Angeles-based Prana Studios and the Mumbai based 3D Animation Studios.

It is learnt to be featuring the latest innovations in computer graphics matching International cinema standards. However though K2H2 was a very successful film marking the debut of Karan Johar as a director, its animated version is not being directed by him but his Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani.

There was also speculation whether Salman Khan who featured in a Filmfare Award winning performance in the film would dub for his animated character since him and SRK have had a fall out. But now we have learnt that his character will be dubbed by Ritesh Deshmukh. The names of stars who shall lend their voices for this animated film are - Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Uday Chopra, Riteish Deshmukh, Simi Garewal and Sajid Khan.

Finally Dulha Mil Gaya will hopefully release in July 2009

Finally Mudassar Aziz’s long awaited debut film Dulha Mil Gaya will hopefully release in July 2009. The film has been getting postponed due to lack of Shah Rukh Khan’s date availability. Then it was recently reported that BIG Pictures had pulled out of the film. But now it seems now all things are falling in the right place.

Co-producer of the film, actor-producer Anuj Saxena is confident about the film’s scheduled release in July. He states, “The film may have been delayed but it is ready for a release now and if everything goes well we don’t see a problem why it should not release in July.”

DMG marks return of Main Hoon Na jodi of SRK and Sushmita Sen after a gap of 5 years. The film however revolves around four main characters thats Shah Rukh Khan who plays Raj Oberoi, Sushmita Sen who plays Lisa DD, Fardeen Khan who plays Shashank and Tara Sharma who plays Jessica DD. The film has beenextensively in Trinidad and Tobago and Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of a Trinidad based businessman.

Despite clear cut denials from both Minissha and my end, the industry still believes Minissha and I are a couple and they make no bones in saying “how cute we look together” or “how good we’d look onscreen”. It all leaves me completely bemused because the truth is I met Minissha some four years ago at the press conference of her first film Yahaan at a five star hotel in Delhi as a journalist. We were constantly in touch over sms and would exchange occasional phone calls in the last four years. We definitely WERE very good friends until she stopped talking to me the day she realised I’m no longer a journalist! But that’s all right with me. What was certainly not alright with me was the way she lashed out at me in the press, calling me all sorts of names, calling me publicity hungry. I think it was all in very poor taste,” says Anant.

Hrithik Roshan and Sussane back home

First, there were murmurs of Hrithik Roshan’s closeness to his Kites co-star Barbara Mori, and then reportedly, his wife Sussane Roshan walked out on him with their two sons and stayed at her parents’ place. Sussane vehemently denied having marital problems and said that she was staying at her parents’ due to an anti-termite treatment at her residence. However, to put an end to the whispers, the couple decided to shift base to the Marriott hotel for a month. Little did they know that the shift of location would further fuel speculations about another rift — this time between father Rakesh Roshan and son Hrithik.

Rakesh, who is aghast at the gossip, said, “These are baseless rumours. Our audience, friends and fans know Hrithik and I are inseparable. Our family will always live under one roof. Nothing can change that. I laugh at such juvenile attempts to make mischief in our lives.”

Commenting on Hrithik and Sussane coming back home, Rakesh said, “The problem of termites lasted just a few days. As the ceiling had to be changed completely, we decided that their entire room should be renovated. Then a lot of carpentry work began. Now my son and daughter-in-law are dividing their time between the hotel and home, depending on when and how the renovation work goes on in their bedroom. With Hrithik and Sussane back home, the matter ends there.”

Abhishek Bachchan wins BBA Award of the year

Aamir Khan’s negotiations with Farhan Akhtar

We have been hearing about Aamir Khan’s negotiations with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani about a film, in which both Farhan and Ritesh want Aamir to do the main lead. But the negotiations brought no fruit at all.

Aamir Khan has worked with Farhan many years back in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and also he gave his guest appearance in Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance, which was also the production of Farhan and Ritesh. Now for a project, which will be directed by Reema Kagti, Farhan wants Aamir for a main role. Thus they were in talks but the result brought nothing.

It has been learnt that Ritesh Sidhwani, who is Farhan Akhtar’s partner went to meet Aamir Khan on the sets of 3 Idiots and discussed the project. But the things dropped down when Aamir asked for a whopping amount as a fee and in addition to that a share in film’s profit. Ritesh and Farhan now will make a film with some other superstar.

When asked Ritesh, he confirmed that Aamir had certain demands, which were not acceptable to him and Farhan.

Why Imran khan measured Katrina Kaif’s body?

Sanjay Gadhvi has signed both Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif in a film, ‘7 Days in Paris’. Recently a funny incident happened at a gym in Mumbai when Imran took the measuring tape and measured Katrina’s body.

Katrina and Imran have become friends. Why? Because they are attending the speeches and acting workshops organized by Sanjay Gadhvi prior to the shooting.

They met at a gym lately and Katrina was found ragging Imran, saying that she was taller and heavier than him. Imran took it as a challenge and demanded a measuring tape. When it was produced, he measured Katrina and he proved right that he was taller and heavier than her.
